PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Manuscript Evaluation Process
The International Journal of Mechanical and Sustainability Engineering Technology (IJMSET) employs a rigorous and impartial evaluation process for submitted manuscripts:
1. Initial Submission: Authors submit their research papers to IJMSET. The Editor-in-Chief then assigns each manuscript to a Managing Editor for further processing.
2. Preliminary Screening: The Managing Editor, along with the editorial team, conducts an initial assessment. They may choose to accept the manuscript outright, decline it, or proceed with a more in-depth review. Each submission undergoes a plagiarism check using specialized software.
3. Peer Evaluation: The Managing Editor selects at least two subject matter experts to evaluate the manuscript. IJMSET employs a double-blind evaluation system, where the identities of both evaluators and authors remain undisclosed to each other. Evaluators utilize a standardized assessment form provided by IJMSET.
4. Decision Communication: Based on the evaluators' feedback, the Editor-in-Chief informs the author whether the manuscript is accepted, requires revisions, or is rejected. This communication maintains the anonymity of the evaluators.
5. Manuscript Refinement: If revisions are necessary, authors are given the opportunity to refine their work based on the evaluators' comments and suggestions. Authors may also submit a response letter addressing each point and detailing the changes made.
6. Resubmission of Refined Manuscript: After making the required revisions, authors resubmit their refined manuscript following a process similar to the initial submission.
7. Acceptance Notification: If the evaluators are satisfied with the revisions, the editor notifies the author of the manuscript's acceptance for publication.
8. Pre-publication Preparation and Release: Accepted manuscripts undergo formatting, copyediting, and proofreading. Once these processes are complete, the paper is published online according to IJMSET's publication format.
Evaluation Quality Assurance
Manuscripts received by IJMSET are initially screened by the Editorial Board to determine their potential relevance to the journal's readership. Manuscripts that are deemed relevant, adhere to the Author Guidelines, and are well-presented are sent for peer evaluation.
The Editor-in-Chief assesses evaluators based on the quality of their reviews and other performance metrics to ensure optimal journal quality. These assessments contribute to decisions on reappointment to IJMSET's Editorial Board and future evaluation requests. Individual performance data on evaluators are accessible to the Editor-in-Chief but otherwise kept confidential.
